Title:
STABILIZATION OF PROTEIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3892954
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily imparting organic solvent resistance to a protein unstable to organic solvents.
SOLUTION: This method for stabilizing a protein comprises adding a protein folding factor to a solution containing an organic solvent (e.g. ethanol) and containing a protein (e.g. β-galactosidase, peroxidase) to effect inhibition of the protein in the solution from being deactivated due to the organic solvent; wherein the protein folding factor is a protein having molecular chaperone activity (e.g. GroE) or peptidyl prolyl-cis, trans-isomerase which is expressed from a DNA derived from Methanococcus thermolithotrophicus.
