PURPOSE: A stabilized composition of ester with specific structure containing at least one of organic sulfur compound, thus being readily compatible with various kinds of rubber and synthetic resins, and used as a tackifier or modifier for them.
CONSTITUTION: At least one of organic sulfur compound such as thiodialkanoic diester or diester of thioglycol is added to esters and/or its aromatic ring-hydrogenated product of formula I and/or II(R1 is residue of 3W6C tri- or tetrahydric alcohol; R2, R3 and R4 are H, 1W6C alkyl; R5 and R6 are H, 1W3C alkyl; n is 1W4) in an amount of 0.01W10pts.wt.per 100pts. of the esters to give an ester stabilized composition. The stabilized esters are stable against heat and oxygen and can be used as a tackifier for hot melt adhesive which is used in the air at high temperatures.
