PURPOSE: To obtain a stable flowable aqueous liquid detergent composition by mixing a solid substantially water-insoluble organic peroxyacid with an 8-20C alkyl ethoxylate, a bleach-compatible anionic surfactant, a specified pH jump system, a xanthan polysaccharide, and a fatty acid.

CONSTITUTION: There is provided a composition containing the following components (a) to (f):(a) about 1 to about 30 wt.% solid substantially water- insoluble organic peroxyacid; (b) about 10 to about 40 wt.% 8-20C alcohol ethoxylated with about 2 to about 20 mol, on the average per mold of the alcohol, of ethylene oxide; (c) 0 to about 10 wt.% bleach-compatible anionic surfactant; (d) about 2 to about 40 wt.% pH jump system (desirably, borax/ sorbitol system) giving a pH of about 3 to about 6 to the composition and giving a pH of about 7 to about 10 to a diluted solution when the composition is diluted; (e) about 0.05 to about 2 wt.% agar or xanthan polysaccharide; and (f) about 0.5 to about 3 wt.% 10-14C fatty acid.
