Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a prostaglandin E (PGE) solid preparation which can be stored stably at room temperature, by mixing PGE with gelatinous cellulose, and drying the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The title preparation is prepared by (1) mixing 1 mole of a PGE, e.g. 16(S)methyl-20-methoxy-PGE2, with ≥1 mole, pref. 10W150 moles of a gelatinous substance obtained by grinding or keading a water-insoluble cellulose in water, and (2) removing the solvent from the mixture by spray drying, freeze drying, etc. The gelatinous cellulose contains 0.1W15 wt.%, pref. 1W5 wt.% of the water- insoluble cellulose, e.g. hydroxypropoxycellulose having a hydroxy-propoxy-content of ≤30%, pref. 5W16%, or crystalline cellulose.
