Title:
STABLE SOLUBILIZED VITAMIN A LIQUID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05331056
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a stable solubilized vitamin A liquid by combining a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil having a specific HLB value with a nonionic surfactant having a specific HLB value and adding the mixture to a vitamin A.

CONSTITUTION: The stable solubilized vitamin A liquidis produced by compounding 0.003-0.1wt.% of vitamin A with 100-600wt.% (based on the vitamin A) of a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil having an HLB value of ≥10 and 10-500wt.% (based on the vitamin A) of a nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyethylene glycol fatty acid ester) having an HLB value of 2-9 and, as necessary, adding a pharmaceutical agent such as naphazoline hydrochloride and a buffering agent such as citric acid to adjust the pH to 2-9. The liquid is useful in the fields of pharmaceuticals such as eye drop and injection, foods such as drinkable preparation, etc. The liquid is effective in preventing the instabilization of vitamin A and stably keeping the appearance over a long period.
