Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a stable ultramarine with the sulfur on its surface hindered by a zinc compound.
USE: Blue colorants for construction materials, coatings, printing inks, paints, paper, textiles, cosmetics, detergents, etc. Having high acid resistance.
CONSTITUTION: An original ultramarine is treated, in an aqueous medium, with a zinc compound (e.g., zinc chloride), followed by if, required, calcination of the resulting product (e.g. at 200°C for 5hr). Alternatively, if necessary, the above calcined product is dispersed in water followed by drying at 10W105°C.
