PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To narrow a conveyance path and automate the conveyance and delivery of long objects between a rack and a carrying-in-and-out device by conveying and delivering the long objects fitted with circular metal hangers at one end in the longitudinal direction from an automated storage and retrieval system to the rack in the suspended state by a stacker crane. SOLUTION: A stacker crane 5 having received long objects 1 from a carrying-in-and-out device is moved to the storage position of a rack 30 along a travel rail. A revolving frame 12 is revolved, and the long objects 1 are faced to the storage position of the rack 30. A slide frame 16 and a slide frame 19 are moved to the side of the rack 30, and the long objects 1 are moved to the side of the rack 30. The metal hangers 2 fixed to the long objects 1 are inserted into hoisting accessories 34 on the rack 30 side. Driving means 21 are operated, and hands 20 are opened to release the holding of the intermediate sections of the long objects 1. The long objects 1 are delivered to the hoisting accessories 34 of the rack 30 from the hoisting accessories 17 of the stacker crane 5.
