Abstract:
This multistage pump having a simple structure can keep cavitation from occurring in a fluid flowing back via a balance pipe. This multistage pump 200 is provided with: a rotating shaft 1; multiple impellers 2 mounted on the rotating shaft 1; a balance mechanism 70 for balancing the axial thrust acting on the rotating shaft 1; a pump casing 3 which accommodates the multiple impellers 2 and the balance mechanism 70; and balance piping 75 which allows communication between a balance space 73 inside the pump casing 3 accommodating the balance mechanism 70 and a first intermediate space 110 inside the pump casing 3 between an adjacent pair 2-1, 2-2 of the aforementioned impellers 2.
