Title:
STAINLESS ALLOY HAVING FEW FLAW FORMED BY ROLLING IN HOT ROLLING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5716153
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the formation of flaws due to rolling in hot rolling, by carrying out the adjustment of alloy components based on S, P and O in a stainless alloy.

CONSTITUTION: The stainless alloy comprising 0.001W0.20wt% C, 0.1W6.0wt% Si, 0.1W10.0wt% Mn, 0.06wt% or less P, 0.01wt% or less S, 15.0W35.0% Cr, 3.5W35.0wt% Ni, 0.001W0.50wt% N, 0.01wt% or less O, at least one element of 6.0% or less Mo, 4.0wt% or less Cu, 1.0wt% or less Nb and 0.1wt% or less Sn, and the remainder of substantially Fe, having a value of δcal of formula I or 4.0% or less and meeting he condition of formula II. Since S is a main cause for the formation of pills, the minimum content of it is preferable and when the content exceeds its upper limit, the hot workability of the alloy is deteriorated even with other means tried. O and P also promote the formation of pills so that the minimum content of them is preferable. Other components have influence on the formation of pills through the δcal. The more negative the δcal the more easily the pills are formed. When the δcal is positive, the distribution of S, P and O is made uniform, a good effect being obtained, but when the δcal exceeds 4, the uniform distribution of them is reversely deteriorated.
