Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel foil with a film that is usable as a flexible substrate for a thin film device to which a Roll to Roll process is applicable, especially, the foil being free of elution of stainless steel from the end part in the TD direction of the stainless steel foil in etching, and to provide a manufacturing method of the foil.SOLUTION: A stainless steel foil with a film includes a first insulator film, a stainless steel foil placed directly on the first insulator film, and a second insulator film placed directly on the stainless steel foil. A distance (b) from an end of the first insulator film to the proximate end of the stainless steel foil is 0.1-5.0 mm in the cross section in the TD direction of the stainless steel foil with a film. The stainless steel foil has a nearly trapezoidal shape with the upper side shorter than the lower side. The stainless steel foil has a thickness (t) of 10-150 μm. The upper side and a slanting side of the trapezoid are completely covered by the second insulator film. There are provided the stainless steel foil with a film of a film thickness (a) of 2.0-5.0 μm and a manufacturing method of the foil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
