Title:
STAINLESS STEEL VALVE FOR CORROSION/EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT PIPING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1073175
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide sufficient earthquake resistance and resistance for chemical and physical electric corrosion by forming a main part of stainless steel, and insertably fitting and connecting ends of a pipe body to connection pats of both sides of a valve casing through insulative elastic rings.

A valve 1 is mainly made of stainless steel. Rubber lining for giving elasticity is applied to a surface of a valve element 11 which opens and closes a flow passage through its vertical motion. A leading end of a pipe body 3 is fitted to a connection part 2 of each of both sides of a valve casing. A lock ring 12 is fitted to an inner surface of the connection part 2. The pipe body 3 is freely inserted within a range until the ring 12 is engaged by a projection 13 an the tip of the pipe body 3. A tapered insulating elastic ring 14 is arranged between an inner surface of the connection part 2 and the outer surface of the pipe body 3 as an insulator. Its material is preferably rubber/elastomer having proper elasticity and a high electric insulation property. Pressurizing force of the ring 14 is adjusted by a bolt 16. Chemical corrosion by environment is avoided, physical electric corrosion is prevented since metal contact is eliminated between the pipe body and the valve, and displacement can be eliminated at the time of an earthquake.
