Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the drawing lubricity by achieving the nitriding by the molten salt method without using nickel.
SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of stainless steel wire for spring, islands 3 of a nitrided layer are generated by the crack on the surface of an austenitic stainless steel wire 2, the nitriding of 0.1-10μm in film thickness, and 300-1200Hv in hardness is performed by the molten salt method on the surface of the stainless steel wire for spring and the austenitic stainless steel wire for spring in which the major diameter of the islands 3 is 5-50μm and the amount of the adhered lubricant on the nitrided layer part is 0.05-1.00g/m2, and then, the drawing is performed.
