Abstract:
To manufacture at low cost in a short period construction, a stair ascending/descending assist device capable of being used safely by a person in need of or no need of assistance alike during ascending/descending a stair, to reduce a user's physical burden, and to improve safety.SOLUTION: In the invention, in addition to a conventional handrail, a handle of an ascending/descending assist device other than the conventional handrail, a power unit for lifting the handle, an electric cable housing unit for supplying an electric power to a driver of a drive unit on an opposite side of the stair of the handrail. Furthermore, in the handle a part used for ascending and a part used for descending are provided separately. In addition, a switch is provided on an opposite side to a direction of travel. Above that a structure for fixing a chain used for transmitting an uphill force and controlling a descending speed is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
