Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail which a walker can grip easily and firmly with his stronger hand and to prevent a stumbled walker from rolling down.
SOLUTION: A safety handrail comprises at least one protruding handrail which protrudes toward a passageway, grips secured to the protruding handrails, and columns supporting the protruding handrails. The protruding handrails are arranged at regular intervals along the inclination of stairs so as to protrude alternately from both sides of the passageway. Further, the columns secured to the tops of the protruding handrails protruding alternately from both sides of the passageway are arranged on the same straight line or in a staggered arrangement. Part of the safety handrail is formed to be capable of opening and closing.
