PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe, simple and compact system which is an emergency escape system to be exclusively used for wheeled chairs for persons of advanced age, sick persons, etc., is used for fire escape stairs of multi-stories buildings and may be operated without using electric energy.
SOLUTION: Guide rails 2 are installed to the rear sides 19 of the fire escape stairs 1 in stairway rooms A for escape in series from the upper story sections to the lower story sections. Siding rails 3 communicating with these guide rails 2 are arranged at the required points and are provided with stockyards 4. These siding rails 3 and guide rails 2 are provided with a plurality of descending machines 5 for downward guiding and moving in engagement freely attachably and detachably with these rails. These descending machines are provided with traveling means which engaged the guide rails 2 and energy accumulation devices which obtain energization for horizontal movement by the mechanical energy accumulated by accompanying the descending motion by interlocking to these traveling means. In addition, hoisting rope manual winders with stoppers are arranged and the sliding of the respective stockyards are always provided with a suitable number of these descending machines.
