Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a stamping material refractory, consisting essentially of a magnesia clinker containing iron and a dolomite clinker, suitably usable as an electric furnace hearth material for steelmaking and excellent in spalling, abrasion resistances, etc.

CONSTITUTION: This magnesia dolomite-based stamping material for an electric furnace hearth comprises a dolomite clinker and a magnesia clinker containing iron and the magnesia clinker containing the iron has a chemical composition of ≥80wt.% total amount of MgO and Fe2O3 and further 65-97wt.% MgO and 2-12wt.% Fe2O3. The content of the magnesia clinker containing the iron is at least ≥20wt.% and that of the Fe2O3 is 2-8wt.% in the mixed raw materials.
