PURPOSE: To prevent the creaking noise of a stanchion by inserting slide- allowing members on the connection face of the stanchion and a stanchion cover.

CONSTITUTION: A stanchion main body 1 is made of a steel plate and has a U-shaped cross section, and a stanchion cover 2 has a U-shaped cross section, has ribs 4 for forming grooves 3 on the inner face, and is injection-molded with plastic. Ornaments 5 are injection-molded with semi-hard poly vinyl chloride and have a T-shaped cross section, and they are used as cushioning materials between the main body 1 and stanchion cover 2. The ornaments 5 are inserted into grooves 3 of the stanchion cover 2, the stanchion main body 1 is covered and fixed with a screw 6, and the friction due to the rubbing between the main body 1 and the cover 2 is prevented. When rubbing occurs between the stanchion 1 and the stanchion cover 2, the semi-hard ornaments 5 are deformed by the twist of the stanchions 1, the rubbing between the members can be made very small, thus no creaking noise is generated.
