To provide a stand device capable of being connected easily with an electronic apparatus in accordance with a housing posture of the apparatus using an ordinary connector of a mechanical connection system.

In a state that a camera 1 is laid while directing the rear surface upward and a display 5 is turned to direct the display screen 5-1 upward as shown in Fig. (a), a rotary section 27 of the stand device 22 is rotated such that a connection inhibit member 29 is located above a stand connecting section 28 as shown in Fig (b). When the camera 1 is attached to the stand device 22 as shown by a dashed line, the forward end of the connection inhibit member 29 enters the step 2-1 of a camera body 2 and the stand connecting section 28 is coupled with a camera connecting section 12. In a state that the camera 1 is laid while directing the front surface upward by folding the display 5 as shown in Fig. (c), the rotary section 27 of the stand device 22 is rotated such that the connection inhibit member 29 is located under the stand connecting section 28 as shown in Fig (d). When the camera 1 is attached to the stand device 22, the forward end of the connection inhibit member 29 enters the step 2-1 of the camera body 2 and the stand connecting section 28 is coupled with the camera connecting section 12.
