To provide a standard penetration test noise eliminator, reducing the generation and diffusion of impact sound generated by a collision between a hammer and a knocking head in a standard penetration test, especially high frequency impact sound to eliminate a bad influence upon the surrounding environment.
This standard penetration test noise eliminator includes: a lower shaft 2 where a sampler 3 is fixed to the lower part and the knocking head 4 is fixed to the upper part; an upper shaft 10, the lower end part of which is integrated with the lower shaft or the knocking head, and which is extended upward along an extension of the lower shaft; and the hammer 11 supported to freely vertically slide along the upper shaft and strike the knocking head in descending, wherein the noise eliminator further includes a sound absorbing member 40 covering at least the upper part of the lower shaft and/or part of the knocking head.
