Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize a standard signal generator which features a wide temperature range with the reduced cycle fluctuation by securing the combinations among plural number of the elastic surface wave oscillators and logic circuits.

CONSTITUTION: Two units of surface elastic wave elements 2 and 3 are connected to oscillator circuits 2a and 3a to secure the oscillation for frequencies f1 and f2. The temperature characteristics of elements 2 and 3 are set as shown by curves 8 and 9. Frequency difference detector circuit 4 generates difference Δf (curve 10) between frequencies f1 and f2, and correction signal production circuit 5 generates K.(Δf)2 (curve 11) each. Pulse control circuit 6 receives the output of oscillator 2a and circuit 5 and produces the frequency of f1+K(Δf)2. As shown by curve 12, the frequency never has the fluctuation due to the temperature change. This signal is divided through divider 7 to be turned to the standard signal of the desired frequency. The temperature characteristics of the surface elastic wave elment can be varied by the cutting angle of the crystal bar, the rotational angle within the plane, and other factors.
