Abstract:
The system has a user interface (4) activating a waiting function to enable a radio interface (3) to remain in a standby mode based on braking and acceleration phases and steering maneuverability when a call is received. The interface (4) issues a tone output and a voice message indicating a holding period representing the mode to a caller. The interface (4) issues a delay before and after conveying the message to adjust the period. A vehicle traffic detection unit analyses driver assistance system data to determine braking and acceleration phases and steering maneuverability. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a communication system in an automobile.
