To provide a napped fabric excellent in degree of design freedom and having new conventionally unknown relief design different in texture at depression and projection parts, without damaging feeling of the fabric.

There is provide a napped fabric 1 which includes a ground weave part 2 and a napped part 3 including pile 4, and by arranging insertion fiber 5 on the pile surface side of the ground weave 2 and partially removing pile 4 of the napped part 3 by erosion removal processing or pruning processing, has a depression part 8 where the side surface of the insertion fiber 5 is exposed on the surface and a projection part 7 including the napped part 3 having the cut end of pile as the top.
