The stapler driving device includes: a power supply section for supplying power to the motor of a stapler for performing a stapling operation; a maximum time storage portion for storing a permissible maximum time for permitting time taken for one stapling operation; a measuring section for measuring an actual performing time actually taken for the stapling operation; an operating time control section for causing the power supply section to supply power estimated that a time required for a stapling operation is closer to the permissible maximum time than the previous actual execution time taken for the actual stapling operation; a power storage section for storing the initial power; and a control interrupting section for monitoring occurrence of special incidence, for temporarily interrupting control exerted by the operating time control section, in case of the occurrence of a special incidence, and for causing the power supply section to supply power based on the initial power.
