To increase the strength of an inorg. molded body and to improve the adhesiveness of the inorg. core of a gypsum board to the board base paper by mixing reserve starch with the cortex component of reserve starch in a specified weight ratio.
Reserve starch such as potato starch, tapioca starch, sweet potato starch, corn starch, high amylose corn starch, wheat starch or rice starch is prepd. and 98-5 wt.%, preferably 90-20 wt.%, especially preferably 90-40 wt.% of the reserve starch is mixed with 2-95 wt.%, preferably 10-80 wt.%, especially preferably 10-60 wt.% cortex component of reserve starch such as cortex component-base starch residue discharged from a process for producing rhizome starch, cortex component-base bran discharged from a process for producing grass starch or cortex component-base corn white residue discharged from a process for producing corn starch and the resultant mixture is subjected to acid treatment or oxidation treatment if necessary.
