To provide a starch degrading enzyme exhibiting high activity in starch degradation, a nucleic acid encoding the enzyme and uses thereof.SOLUTION: Provided is a starch degrading enzyme having one of the amino acid sequences (a), (b) and (c) where (a) is an amino acid sequence comprising a specific sequence; (b) is an amino acid sequence comprising the specific amino acid sequence with substitution, deletion, insertion and/or addition of one to several amino acids and having a starch degrading activity; (c) is an amino acid sequence comprising an amino acid sequence having 90% or more sequence identity to the specific amino acid sequence and having a starch degrading activity.SELECTED DRAWING: None
