To provide a start clutch control device of a vehicle capable of controlling a start clutch to a proper engagement force for target torque despite the fact that the coefficient of friction of the start clutch is lowered and plate clearances are increased.
In this start clutch control device, a torque instruction value is calculated based on a vehicle state, the calculated torque instruction value is converted into an engagement force instruction value by using an engagement force instruction value conversion map, and in starting, the engagement force instruction value is output to perform the frictional engagement control of the start clutch installed in a drive system. The start clutch control device comprises a clutch engagement force correction means correcting the characteristics of the engagement force instruction value conversion map based on a drive source torque difference in a same time when the rising gradient of the drive source rotational speed is larger than the rising gradient of the drive source rotational speed set on the assumption that the clutch slippage does not occur when the complete engagement of the start clutch is instructed and a tire transmits a force to a road surface without slipping.
