Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start control device for a hybrid vehicle that can suppress unnecessary start of an internal combustion engine at start of the vehicle and can improve fuel economy.SOLUTION: A start control device is applied to a hybrid vehicle 1 that includes a friction type automatic clutch 20 installed in a power transmission path between an internal combustion engine 2 and a driving wheel 5 and controlled by an actuator 23 and an MG 3 installed in the power transmission path between the automatic clutch 20 and the driving wheel 5 so as to enable output of power and that starts the internal combustion engine 2 when an accelerator opening is a prescribed start determination opening or larger. In the start control device, during stop of the vehicle 1, even when operation amount of a clutch pedal CP is a value that is less than a maximum value for making the automatic clutch 20 in a disengagement state and is larger than an intermediate value for making the automatic clutch 20 in a half clutch engagement state, if the accelerator opening reaches the prescribed determination opening or larger, the MG 3 is controlled so that the driving wheel 5 is driven by the MG 3.
