Abstract:
To provide a start control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of preventing rotation in the reverse direction of the armature of a starting device without enlargement of a one-way clutch.
A CPU of an engine ECU estimates a cylinder internal pressure Pt (step S4) upon judgment that the engine has stopped (YES in step S1) and, if the cylinder internal pressure Pt is greater than a prescribed value of Px (YES in step S5), turns on a start prohibition flag (step S6) to prohibit starting of a starter.
