To provide a start control device for an internal combustion engine for an automobile which attains quick and comfortable startability.

The device includes: a switching circuit 3 which is provided to an internal combustion engine for an automobile forcing an ignition plug PG to discharge on the basis of the secondary voltage of an ignition transformer T having a primary coil and secondary coil electromagnetically connected with each other, which is arranged between a battery BT for starting and rotating a stator 6 and an ignition circuit 5A for pulse-controlling the ignition transformer T and which connects/disconnects electric connection therebetween; a computer circuit 2 which controls the switching circuit 3 to a non-connection state; and a capacitors which is charged in a connection state of the switching circuit 3 and discharged in a non-connection state of the switching circuit 3. The ignition circuit 5A is driven by the output voltage of the capacitor 1 at rotation start.
