Title:
START CONTROL METHOD FOR COMMUTATORLESS MOTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3400917
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start a commutatorless motor having a permanent magnet rotor and no pole position detecting means, e.g. a Hall element, surely while positioning the rotor surely using a bootstrap system inverter circuit.
SOLUTION: When an IGBT (switching element) 3d is turned on at the starting of a motor, a current flows from a DC power supply 4 through a resistor 5 and a diode 6a to a capacitor 7a which is thereby charged to provide a DC power supply for an IGBT 3a. After the IGBTs 3a-3f are turned off for a predetermined time, the IGBTs 3a, 3e are turned on and the rotor of a commutatorless motor 12 is positioned. In this regard, a capacitor 7b is charged from the DC power supply 4 through a resistor 5 and a diode 6b to provide a DC power supply for the IGBT 3b. Consequently, the commutatorless motor 12 is started and when the IGBT 3f is turned on, a capacitor 7c is charged from the DC power supply 4 through the resistor 5 and a diode 6c to provide a DC power supply for the IGBT 3c.
