Title:
START CONTROL SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3126473
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the system start processing speed by operating self- diagnosis of a main body system device and that of a service processor in parallel.
CONSTITUTION: The self-diagnosis routine of a CPU 21 is included in a routine 221 of the initial program loads (IPL) of a service processor (SVP) 22, and the SVP 22 starts self-diagnosis of the CPU 21 by the start of execution of the IPL routine 221, and the CPU 21 itself executes the self-diagnosis. The SVP 22 executes its own self-diagnosis after starting the self-diagnosis of the CPU 21. Since the self-diagnosis processing of the CPU 21 and that of the SVP 22 are executed in parallel practically, the time required for the self-diagnosis processing of the computer system is shortened, and the system start processing speed is increased.
