Abstract:
To effectively suppress an increase of engine vibration at a start while securing the favorable starting performance of an engine.
Cranking by a motor is carried out and the compression pressure of the engine is reduced by operating a compression pressure reduction means at an engine start (S2, S3). Stop engine speed NEOFF at which the operation of a compression pressure reduction means is stopped is calculated based on rotary displacement around a crankshaft of the engine or a parameter relating to the displacement (S5), and the operation of the compression pressure reduction means is stopped when engine speed NE reaches the stop engine speed NEOFF (S6, S7).
