To adopt a structure hanging a start spring on a rack pin and supporting a solenoid pushing a control rack on an engine wall without problems such as bending on the start spring, difficulty of hanging installation, and easiness of coming off.
This start spring support structure for a governor has a start spring 13 interlocking with a rack pin 2a of a control rack 2 of a fuel injection pump 1 in such a manner that the same cam be freely operated by a governor lever 3 and pulling and energizing the rack pin 2a in a fuel increase side R at a time of engine start built over a spring support mechanism 20 constructed on the engine wall 8a and the rack pin 2a. A stop solenoid 6 pressing an end surface of the control rack 2 to forcedly operating the same to a fuel reduce side L is installed on the engine wall 8. A support structure 20 is constructed by fixing a metal plate bracket 21 having an insertion hole 21a for hanging a hook end part 13a of the start spring 13 formed thereon on the engine wall 8s near the stop solenoid 6 by a screw.
