PURPOSE: To make accurate and proper starting performable, by installing a positive characteristic thermistor, to be set up in an auxiliary winding circuit for a compressor motor consisting of main winding and auxiliary winding, so as to be subject to the influence of temperature in a refrigerant discharge system of a compressor.
CONSTITUTION: When a power source is made into a circuit, an electric current flows into each of main winding M and auxiliary winding A of a compressor motor 1a which is therefore started. If so, operation of a compressor 1 is started, causing a refrigerant to be discharged out of a refrigerant discharge pipe 11, and this refrigerant is circulated in a condenser 12, a capillary tube 13 and an evaporator 14 so that cooling operation is started. At this starting time, temperature in a positive characteristic thermistor 4 goes up due to its own generating heat and heat of the refrigerant discharge pipe 11, and its resistance value is growing larger. And, when this resistance value goes up beyond the specified value, substantially the auxiliary winding A is separated from the power source, and afterward, operation of the compressor motor 1a by means of the main winding along takes place.
