Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrain the increase of CO, HC, unburnt gasoline, etc., in an exhaust gas by increasing the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied from a starter to an intake passage at the deceleration time of an engine.

CONSTITUTION: A starter 40 supplies a fuel in an intake passage 4 as a primary mixture by mixing it with air in a starter pipe 45 after measuring it by a starter jet 44 and sucking it in a plunger room 43 and mixing with the air from a starter air hole 42. A negative pressure valve 47 operating in response to the negative pressure in an intake passage 4 is provided on the fuel supply passage 46 of the starter 40. By applying an engine brake under the ON state of the starter, the amount of the fuel sent in a plunger room 43 through the fuel supply passage 46 in response to the increase of the negative pressure in the intake passage 4 in the downstream of a throttle valve by the sudden close of the throttle valve is reduced in response to the opening of the negative pressure valve 47 and the air-fuel ratio (A/F) of a primary mixture supplied into the intake passage 4 is increased.
