Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve compactification of a dimension of an engine in a vehicle width direction and simplification of a structure.SOLUTION: A starter mechanism of a saddle-riding type vehicle includes: a starter motor (221) which applies a rotative force to a crank shaft (202) during engine start; a primary drive gear (203) which is provided so as to rotate integrally with the crank shaft; a primary driven gear (204) which is meshed with the primary drive gear and to which rotation is transmitted; and a clutch housing (208) which is attached to the primary driven gear through a primary driven gear damper (212). The rotative force generated by the starter motor is transmitted to the crank shaft through the clutch housing, the primary driven gear, and the primary drive gear.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
