Abstract:
To provide a starter which is small and has high heat dissipation.SOLUTION: A starter includes: a yoke 4 forming a magnetic circuit; an armature 7 for generating rotation torque by magnetic flux from the yoke 4; a commutator 9 arranged coaxially with a rotating shaft of the armature 7 and having a sliding surface on an outer periphery; a brush 10 for sliding on the sliding surface of the commutator 9; springs 12 for depressing the brush 10 to the sliding surface of the commutator 9 from an outer peripheral direction; a brush holder 13 for storing the brush 10 and the spring 12; and a base 14 for holding the brush holder 13. The brush holder 13 includes positive electrode side brush holders 131 and negative electrode side brush holders 132. The positive electrode side brush holders 131 are formed of insulation materials and the negative electrode side brush holders 132 are formed of metal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
