Abstract:
To provide a starter suppressed in adhesion of water content to a lead wire.SOLUTION: In a starter including a motor and a solenoid switch, the motor includes a cylindrical yoke, an armature disposed inside of the yoke, a commutator disposed on an end portion of an armature shaft and having a slide surface, a brush slidably kept into contact with the slide surface, a brush holder for housing the brush and a spring, and a base of a disc-shape having an opening through which the armature shaft is penetrated at its center, having a mounting surface on which the brush holder is mounted, and disposed vertically to the armature shaft. A part held by two cut portions cut out from an inner periphery or an outer periphery of the base surrounding the opening, is bent to a side on which the brush holder is mounted at a first bent portion, and bent in a direction of the opening or a direction opposite to the opening at a second bent portion to form a bent surface, and one end of a lead wire connected to the brush disposed adjacent to the bent surface at the other end, is connected to the bent surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
