Abstract:
To suppress generation of noises by eliminating backlash of a pinion gear and a ring gear of a starter.
A pinion gear 24, which is meshed with a ring gear 26 of a crankshaft 12 at the starting time of an internal combustion engine, is arranged on an output shaft 20 of a starter 18. A scissors gear 28 is arranged adjacent to one side portion of the ring gear 26. A spring 30 is arranged for energizing the ring gear 26 and the scissors gear 28 in a rotating direction. A second tooth portion 29 which is meshed with the pinion gear 24 together with a first tooth portion 27 formed on an outer periphery of the ring gear 26, is circumferentially partially formed on an outer periphery of the scissors gear 28.
