Title:
STARTING DEVICE FOR SINGLE-PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3272493
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a starting device which can reduce the power consumption of a single-phase induction motor and, at the same time, can restart the motor in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: This starting device is composed of a starting PTC 35 connected in series to the starting winding 33 of a single-phase induction motor 30, triode AC switch 36 connected in series to the winding 33 and PTC 35, and auxiliary PTC 37 which is connected in parallel with the PTC 35 and has a heat capacity smaller than that of the PTC 35 and, at the same time, the one end of which is connected to the gate of the switch 36. When a voltage is applied across the motor 30 at the time of starting the motor 30, a trigger signal is impressed upon the gate of the switch 36 connected in series with the winding 33 through the auxiliary PTC 37 and the switch 36 is conducted to make the starting current of the motor 20 flow to the winding 33. When the motor 30 is started, the auxiliary PTC 37 becomes a high temperature and the current supplied to the gate of the switch 36 becomes smaller, resulting in the turning off of the switch 36.
