Abstract:
PURPOSE:To omit a special position detecting device for separately excited inverter operation, by increasing the speed by an induction motor which is directly connected to the synchronous motor up to the vicinity of the lower limit of a speed regulating range from a stopped state, and thereafter operating the synchronous motor by the output of the separately excited inverter. CONSTITUTION:At the time of starting, power is supplied from an AC power source AC to the induction motor 9, and the induction motor 9, the synchronous motor 4 which is connected to the motor 9, and a load is started. When the speed is increased to the vicinity of the lower limit value of the speed regulating range, a comparator 17 is operated, an electromagnetic switch 8 is excited, and contact points 8A and 8B are opened. Then the power source for the induction motor 9 is cut OFF, and a converter 1 and the inverter 3 begin to operate. When the inverter 3 has started, the synchronous motor 4 which is operated as a generator is switched to the motor operation.
