Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting system for vehicular gaseous fuel engine, capable of starting the engine in a short time.
SOLUTION: With a starting system for gaseous fuel engine, intake passages 3, 4 are arranged and branched in the downstream from a spray bar 2 provided in an intake pipe 1. Then, a main throttle 5 is provided in the intake passage 3, a sub-throttle 6 is provided in the intake passage 4, and ISC valves 7 are provided in both the intake passage. When the engine starts, an ECU 8 controls a control valve 9 to operate the sub-throttle 6, along with the ISC valves 7 and a gas valve 25 to be opened. Thus, a mixture of gaseous fuel supplied from the spray bar 2 and air is passed through the respective intake passages while increasing its flow rate, and is supplied to respective cylinders of an engine body 11.
