Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a startup method for a fuel battery system that suppresses increase in hydrogen concentration of exhaust gas when a system is started up.SOLUTION: Fuel gas is supplied to a fuel gas passage 2 while a purge control valve 26 is kept closed, and all oxidant gas discharged from a compressor 33 is made to flow into a bypass pipe 25 while a cathode pressure control valve 38 is kept closed. Thereafter, when the anode pressure is determined to be equal to a predetermined pressure or more, the opening degree of the bypass control valve 35 is controlled so that the oxidant gas discharged from the compressor 33 flows into at least an oxidant gas passage 3 with the cathode pressure control valve 38 kept closed while the purge control valve 26 is temporarily opened to scavenge gas in the fuel gas passage 2 by the fuel gas. Thereafter, when the residual amount of the fuel gas in the oxidant gas passage 3 is determined to be equal to or less than a predetermined amount, the cathode pressure control valve 38 is opened while the purge control valve 26 is closed to scavenge the gas in the air passage 3 by the oxidant gas, thereby starting up the fuel battery system 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
