To provide a state monitoring device for a railway vehicle capable of improving the versatility.SOLUTION: A state monitoring device 20 for a railway includes: an acquisition unit 30 mounted on a truck of a railway vehicle 100 to acquire state information about one or more states of vibration, speed, acceleration, sound, reflection light, image, temperature, humidity, and wheel diameter; a determination unit 44 mounted on a truck to determine a state of a track 8 on which the a truck travels or a state of a truck 10 based on the state information acquired by the acquisition unit 30 and provide the determination result; a transmission unit 48 mounted on the truck to transmit the determination result to the outside of the truck; and a power supply unit 70 mounted on the truck to supply power to the acquisition unit 30 and the transmission unit 48.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
