Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic protection circuit capable of discharging the ESD surge sufficiently, while protecting a shunt element for discharge from destraction by burning.SOLUTION: An electrostatic protection circuit has a first power supply line and a second power supply line, a trigger circuit connected between the first and second power supply lines, and outputting a trigger signal in response to the voltage variation between the first and second power supply lines, a shunt element having a main current path connected between the first and second power supply lines, and subjected to on/off control by the trigger signal from the trigger circuit, and a control circuit for turning the shunt element off, by supplying a control signal to the shunt element when the current value of the main current path of the shunt element exceeds a threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
