Abstract:

To provide a static eliminator capable of restraining current flowing from a discharge needle to an object.

An ion generating unit 10 is made provided with a detecting means consisting of two pairs of light projecting elements 30 and light receiving elements 31 arranged in opposition. A control part is to stop supplying a power source voltage to impress on a positive discharge needle 41 and a negative discharge needle 42, in case the detecting means detects an object approaching them 41, 42.
