Title:
STATIC TOE ANGLE ADJUSTMENT METHOD, SHIM FOR ADJUSTING STATIC TOE ANGLE OF REAR SUSPENSION AND REAR WHEELS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11208229
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To effect adequate adjustment of a static toe angle of rear wheels after a rear suspension is mounted on a vehicle, when the rear wheel is suspended by the rear suspension to which a pair of right and left suspension arms are connected through a torsion beam or the like.

This adjustment method is provided with a rear wheel supporting means 5 at each of rear portions, and bushes 3 at each of front portions of a pair of right and left suspension arms 1a and 1b that are connected to one another through an arm connecting member 2. The bushes adjust static toe angles of rear wheels 4a, 4b which are suspended by rear suspensions supported between two fixing plates 70a and 70b, by having both ends of a bolt 8 in a longitudinal direction that penetrates through the bush 3 being supported by the two fixing plates 70a, 70b placed with a distance in the lateral direction of a bracket 7 mounted on a vehicle body 6. In this case, a mounting position of the bush 3 is changed to the lateral direction of the vehicle to rear relatively to the suspension arm 1a (or 1b) having the bush 3, by placing a shim 9 between at least one of the fixing plates 70a and 70b and the end portion of the bush 3 facing it.
