CONSTITUTION: The hilical scanning type video recorder and the memories 2, 3 having at least the memory capacity for two field's share and linked to the capstan 5 of the helical scanning type video recorder and the capstan tachometer signal generator 7 producing the capstan tachometer signal having the frequency integer number times the vertical synchronizing frequency is provided. By counting the capstan tachometer signal, while inhibiting the write-in to the memories 2,3 during the period corresponding to the track changeover part of the rotary head, the slow motion and stationary picture satisfying the standards as normal television video signal can be obained through the readout of the video signal from the memories 2 and 3.
