To provide a stator coil form inspection method allowing the use of measurement by an optical cutting method without decreasing inspection accuracy resulting from noises generated by multiple reflection of light, and enabling non-destructive (non-contact), automatic, high-speed and accurate inspection of a form failure which may cause poor insulation to a case regarding the form of a coil end.
This form inspection method is to determine good or defective of the form of the coil end 10b portion of the stator coil 10 using the optical cutting method to acquire a two-dimensional image 13 of reflected light obtained by emitting slit light 11. The determination of good or defective is performed by preparing reference data based on a measurement point group regarding a reference work and comparing the measurement point for the stator coil 10 with the reference data using the reference work on which surface processing suitable to acquisition of the two-dimensional image 13 is performed and which comprises a portion having a maximum outer form permitted as good for the outer form of the coil end 10b portion.
