To provide a stator structure for an electric motor enabling drastic contraction of an opening width of a stator small tooth part and shortening of a peripheral length.
A stator of an electric motor with distributed winding includes: small tooth parts 12 each having an expansion part located at a tip on the inner diameter side and expanding in the circumferential direction; a pair of stator covers 13 each made of a non-magnetic material and having annular parts 13b and storage parts 13a each radially extending from the annular part 13b and storing and holding each small tooth part 12 both sides of an axial direction; a stator winding arranged by inserting winding coils 16 wound beforehand into slots 15 formed between the small tooth parts 12 from openings on the outer diameter side of the stator covers 13; and an annular yoke part 14 fitted to the outer diameter side of the small tooth parts 12 and integrally arranged on the outer peripheral side of the storage parts 13a of the stator covers 13. By inner diameter side projecting parts of the stator covers 13 arranged between the expansion parts of the small tooth parts 12 for insulation and holding, the inner diameter positions of the stator small tooth parts 12 are held.
